I stumbled across this really interesting interview with Mark McCorkle & Bob Schooly by a reviewer of the entertainment industry/Disney. The guy seems to be a significant fan of the show.
Interview Link (http://jimhillmedia.com/blogs/jim_hill/archive/2007/09/06/does-graduation-actually-bring-kim-possible-s-career-to-a-close-maybe.aspx)
Informative, and more than a little uplifting.

Thanks for the link, but I'm not sure about a live action KP. It seems to me there's a lot of potential for it to be a flop. I'd rather have another feature length animation.

The link also doesn't work on mine.
It sounds interesting. And screencaps-that's awesome.

Here's a version that should work:
Link (http://jimhillmedia.com/blogs/jim_hill/archive/2007/09/06/does-graduation-actually-bring-kim-possible-s-career-to-a-close-maybe.aspx)
But the "Graduation" screencaps can be had on wallaceb's site in much higher resolution. One's been my wallpaper for more than a week.

This one should work. The other one was missing a close quote at the end. I fixed that one too.

I agree with canuck about a live-action KP film. It just wouldn't be the same. Part of the show's appeal lies in the fantasy setting of animation. Kim's astounding athletic stunts are believable in a cartoon, whereas they'd seem faked in live-action.
No; IMHO, Disney should stick to animation for any future KP productions.
BTW: 'Chutes, campy; thanks for the links.

That worked much better. The link was successful.
I find it interesting the way they portrayed the Disney execs saying that they were so fond of the series, and that it was the fan response which was the impetus for bringing the series back for a fourth season. Somehow, it seems that is a lot of PR more than anything. The German syndication deal and the money it brought still seems to be the more likely reason for S4 being done, despite what the fans wanted, but it never hurts to give props to the fans for their support.
It looks like Mark and Bob are still thinking along the lines of a live action film. If so, I certainly hope they make it a good one. I'd prefer they keep it animated myself.

Could it be possible (no pun intended!) that both fan response and the German syndication deal encouraged the DC execs to order the fourth season? I mean, surely all those letters, phone calls and e-mails the fans sent to Disney couldn't have gone unnoticed.

I think it might have, but I still feel the Syndication deal was the primary mover. Disney has had successful shows before like KP, and they all bit the dust after only a few years. I think it has to do with the target audience of tween children. That target audience turns over so quickly that Disney has to keep up with them. What their older siblings may have watched simply won't do. Each new group has to have something fresh and new.
The key in my mind to continuing KP is changing the target audience to a degree. The target audience now has to be more adults, much like "The Simpsons" target audience is, which is why it's been on for twenty years. But I don't wat to see KP becoming too adult like "The Simpsons". I don't want to see KP changed drastically just to fit a new audience. I do think that some subtle changes that would be acceptable could be done which would fit an older audience which would apreciate it much more and for a longer period of time.

Interesting point on the target audience issue. The trick, though, lies in finding the right changes to make. If you change the wrong things you risk ruining the whole show, which would drive the viewers away and lead to a quick cancellation.

I couldn't agree more. The fickleness and changeability of young minds in those tween years is tested, I'm sure, by Disney's marketing department with test shows and ideas to see how a that test audience would respond. My guess is that they are finding it easier to just come up with new shows rather than trying to modify existing ones. it would be easier with adult audiences, I think, but you are correct in that it would be a mine field in terms of how to change the show.:dubiety:

...Or cash. :P
I'm interested in how people like MSB and others bob and weave between production companies. Is Disney losing Schooley and McCorkle to Nickelodeon permanently? Or are they like freelancers, where their next project after the one on Nick could be back on Disney, if the incentives are right?
On a side note, I've now fixed my original link. :)

That was an interesting read. Thanks, 'chutes.
Well, if this was supposed to be the season of fan service, then they certainly did a rocking job with it.
Still, I may sound like a party pooper, but there is a part of me that hopes the show is reached its conclusion. It ended so perfectly now, that... well... it just seems like a good place for all things to come to an end.
As for a live action movie? No interest on my part for far a lot of reasons, one sticking out prominently in my mind. On the other hand... live action Shego.

Can't see the live action movie either. But on the other hand, with a little self irony and focus on the gags rather than the "superawesomecoolness+realism"ness they should be able to pull off most they did during the show. I just can't see anyone fitting the roles. There is no way coming around the fact that nobody on KP has real human anatomy.
...but boy, would I like to see live action monkey ninjas!

This would be extremely popular with the teen boys: Live action Anne Possible, Shego, BonBon, Tara, Monique, Kim...heck, who would limit it to teen males for popularity!
The ladies would all fall in love with the right Ron (especially with the right amount of 'Ron-ness'), and an airborne Felix would be spot-on...
and, of course, the Mole Rat would be CGI!

The same could be said for Scooby-Doo....however, the audition lines for the cast would indeed be intersting....

Live-action monkey ninjas...all those banana peels...Who would play MonkeyFist, or DNAmy (shudder)?
Live action would be cool, but I'd settle for 2-3 more movies and a spin-off animation series with the background stories on Wade, Monique, Joss, Tara, Felix....

That said, however, Melissa McCarthy would probably make as fine a DNAmy in live action as she does in animation.

Given that "Graduation" has aired and that MBS have moved to Nickelodeon, I've pretty much accepted the fact that KP has ended. That said, I've sometimes daydreamed about improving the Disney Adventures KP comics (I haven't read DA in years, but I did see one of its KP comics on an artist's page - the storyline was disappointing), and since DA is being shut down, I thought ... what if KP continued in comic book form? Disney could either revive its old comic section, hire some writers from the show and/or fanfic writers, get some artists on the scene, and we can read about Kim and Ron's college adventures without paying for music, voice actors, or animation!

I'm not to fond of the idea of a live action movie... Cartoons thats had huge success in ratings and audiences compared to KP went for the Idea of the same and end up shelving it. My big thing is were used to certain voice actors and i'm sure i'd notice the difference... so its getting actors that look like the charaters and possiably voicing over with the orginals.
I don't and im sure the creators don't want low quality material that they know will bomb on an idea like this... but it's going to take quite a bit of work and special effects and $$$ to make it really work and good quality:errr:

Comic books would certainly be great, especially if they covered some of the adventures that we didn't see in the show (kind of a KP version of The Giant Rat Of Sumatra).
Some original fan videos would be super as well.

Comic books would ROCK! I never really got into the books that they made for KP (mainly because i couldn't find them) but I'm pretty sure that they were based on episodes that were shown on tv already...New and fresh adventures are good.

NinjaNaco, please forgive this poor Jade-Shipper for excluding the wonderful Zita! I blame it on age (mine, not the lovely Ms. Flores!).
According to the last blog I saw with M&B, they did not seem opposed to doing more KP, either live-action or animation. Either works for me. personally, would not be as fond of comic book (I'm too old, I guess), but would not reject it if no other options available. I'll keep writing, though, regardless: no one else is shipping the JadeKimVerse, and I still have another 1M words to go on top of the .5M there now before I can call it awrap in the 'verse.

The couple that I found mostly used screencaps from the show with dialogue and descriptive verbage.
I would really love to see something done in the whole "graphic novel" format with new stories and artwork. I would imagine that a competent artist could use whatever model sheets that they made for the series to base the characters on (I keep hoping the crew will make the full range of model sheets and notes available either online or in book form), there are bound to be more than we've seen so far, given the range of details and actions that appear in the cartoons.
