My daughter painted her new room yellow with white trim, and it looks really bright and cheerful in the pictures she sent.

Hmmm... yellow.... Might not be to bad, but i've been thinking of a darker color then what i've got now in my room... White  so anything really is better then that. bright yellow, Lime green or sky blue is the current front runners.

I had a very small (10' x 10') den in our old house that had five windows. I painted the walls and trim all the same dark red and it was really cozy.

The lime green sounds good too, though. Like sitting inside a Key Lime pie. :P (Or a Margarita!)

Wow.. 10'x10'? That's about the size of i'll be getting but it's only got 2 windows. As for the lime green... well my family and myself are long time daimler-chrysler owners. I've always loved the lime green that the plymouth hemi-cuda was painted...even though it was two tone. Man... if I had the time and money I'd paint the walls up with artwork but thats just a dream at this point. I'm going to have to take a good look though at what really looks good on the wall before I make the final discission.

Lime green? Not my choice of room color, but then, it isn't my room. Sky blue would probably look real nice, though. :D The pale color might give the room a more airy feeling, while deeper colors may make it seem smaller.

My room was a really odd asparagus color when I moved in, but it's now sky blue. Lighter colors will help the room look bigger. You could always paint three walls one color and one differently.

Or you could leave it pink. It'd match pretty much all of the KP merchandise in the US.

I could be thinking wrong though... I cant help but think when I'm feeling sick and in bed .... ok Greens out. I'm going to have to take a good look at what the yellow and blue look like.

 People might start to look at a guy a little... wierd with pink color walls in a room full of manly stuff... so im going to have to say  to that idea.

White or light gray with a mild tint of green or blue has always worked well for me. It's not so glaring that you get tired of it and most good quality primers will cover the previous color (sure you want to get rid of the pink? We could chip in for a My Little Pony Lamp :) ).

Oh, Please no! Not my little pony!? My older sister is a my little pony fanatic! She's been to local fan club gatherings and had a friend of this come all the way from Spain to visit. Please dont torture me anymore with it...:dubiety::confused:

Unfortunately, Barbie took over soon after.

My youngest niece has My Little Pony, as well as Barbie and Polly Pockets. I'm just glad she never got into Barney or Sesame Street the way friends' kid's have.

You could always paint the walls and ceiling black, get some psychedelic posters, UV lights and a disco ball. Of course the tie-dyes and leisure suits will follow shortly.....

Living in an own small disco? But unless one hosts guests everyday the only person you can overcharge on beverages being oneself? Well, could be a funny way to the funny farm.

EDIT: I've always been living in white painted rooms. Can't really think of anything else - but that's not tested at all.

You could always paint the walls and ceiling black...
Elvis Presley did that in his bedroom at Graceland. He also put tin foil and blackout curtains on his windows to block out the daylight. That's because he was a "night person" who regularly slept by day. He also suffered from frequent insomnia.
Take it from me: an all-black bedroom sounds downright eerie, Elvis notwithstanding.
I personally would go with a pale blue on the walls. It'd make the place feel light and airy, also making it seem larger than it actually is.

However much stark white paint it would take: us it as the primer, then use the remaining and mix in one pint of a medium-light brown and paint one wall that color. The contrast will drive people crazy: if you like that, perfect. If not, paint all the walls the same with the second coat and the single quart of medium-light brown.

That's MHO....

The all black room... uh, dont think so... I like color but not the color of death. I Went to home depot and looked it over and i'm sure im going to go with light blue or sky blue at this point.

I think you made a good choice with the blue, Cloud. It'll make your room seem more spacious.

Yeah, I also think that the color can help make me feel in a better mood if i wake up feeling rough... I has a ceratain warmth to it and it's easy on the eyes.

A warm blue? Could you link us to a color example? I would like to see the color - since one day I might want to wake up in a good mood, too.

Although any step from pink might be good.

No... I don't have it handy. Not to mention that it may not provide the same feeling for everyone. To me, the colors just right. I'll take a picture of it when the room is done.
