Here we go again...
Today's shooting at a Cleveland high school didn't turn out as bloodless as one Recon posted a few weeks ago. Five people were injured, and the gunman, a 14-year-old boy, blew his brains out at the end of the spree.

Yeah... After the seventh or eighth one it gets kinda blasé... It just swirls in and dilutes with news of yet another carbomb in Iraq and the political scandal of the week.
It was different to see black people this time around, though. Usually it's white kids sobbing in each other's arms.

There was another one I heard of...
5 students dead... 1 survived...
Gunman killed himself... Where was that one?

That wasn't a school shooting... that was a psychotic sheriff's deputy in Wisconsin who decided to react to some kids calling him a "pig" by grabbing the department-issued AR-15 out of his car and gunning them all down. :dubiety:
There's also been some questions raised about whether or not he actually killed himself. If he did, it would be the first case I know about where someone shot themselves three times in the head with a rifle that fires two different caliber bullets. :hmm:

well, at least none of the victims were killed. I guess that's something.:dubiety:

Well... so far the only dead was the idiot that did this whole thing... I hope the injured pull though and make it.

There's also been some questions raised about whether or not [the deputy] actually killed himself.
I thought a police sniper plugged him after a town-wide manhunt.

That's what the mayor initially reported... then the Sheriff reported that they were unsure who shot him... then the state Department of Criminal Investigations reported that he shot himself three times in the head with a rifle... and now they're reporting it as undetermined.

The late news reported that this student was suspended for fighting with another student and went back to shot the teacher that punished him. That is just stupid at it's best right there. But here's another stupid question? Where in the hell were the parents while this was going on???

Who knows, Where were the parents when columbine happened? Where were the parents when Red Lake (Minnesota School Shooting) happened? It's just a question that will never be answered.

Probably too blasted busy working just to make ends meet. Not that I am trying to promote any sort of lifestyle, but it seems that kids do get raised better when there is one 'stay at home' parent.

And you know who is to blame for 99% of these school shootings...
Enter Video games... As a hardcore gamer myself, I have never experianced the rage that these school shooters have had... And never in my entire life have I gone out a killed someone cause I just got done playing some Medal of Honor or Grand Theft Auto... I think these "experts" who say that Video games cause rage are just looking for an excuse to make themselves look better...
The only way I see that V.G. cause rage is if the shooter has severe mental issues...

I've seen families with stay-at-home parents and parents that both work have kids go to prison.
Part of it, I would have thought before, would be your involvement with the kids when they were young (between 6 and 12), but have experienced that it 's not that, either.
It comes down to the kid making decisions that drive him one way or the other, and those decisions cannot be 'controlled' by parents.
Have one who is working full-time and going to school full-time to get her nursing degree after the BA in Psychology, and another who has the skills to be a top-rated mechanic but has two felonies (stupid is as stupid does) on his record, so he sits at home and plays video games; at least he doesn't blame everyone else, but he's getting frustrated that he can't even get a chance to become productive.
Solution? working on it.... Don't tell me to kick him out: he's my kid, even if I did adopt him, and I'm too much of a softy to do that. I'll have to let his mother do that....

Sorry to hear that, cp. Hope he gets a break that lets him be productive.

Agreed. His bad decisions shouldn't haunt him for the rest of his life. I, too, hope he gets that break.
