For anyone who likes music, I have uploaded a couple of my songs I have created for my Fanfiction in the past (Warning, all songs are Parental Advisory)
http://profile.imeem.com/GdwKMiU/playlist/tj7PDqhD/
You have to join to be able to listen, but its worth the few seconds to listen. Songs 2 & 3 are based on my fanfiction (Including a Remix/mashup based on the KP Theme)
Enjoy!
Nice. I liked the CMBM remix, although the "10% luck, 20% skill... etc" bit was overused a bit much.
Cut me some slack... That was my second ever fully produced remix and I only had a few lines from the Remember The Name cut up. I'm working on a new version of the CMBM remix though. You know, I do way too many projects...
Sorry; I didn't know. As with everything, there's always room for improvement. :)
I just checked out everything...very good stuff! I really liked When I'm bad... (http://img295.imageshack.us/img295/530/14zj21qk8.jpg)
That one has got to be my fave.
And yes there is always room for improvement with myself... Remixing is a pain...but fun at the same time!

And, of course, a nod to the guy who drew the original version... you may be "The Green Magic" now, but for the moment, I still can't help but want to refer to you as 84.

First part of a work in progress. There will be background and effects added later. And before you click on the link, be advised that the title of the piece is "Every Mother's Nightmare" and it is rated PG-13,

I've though about it for a while and decided to start to stray from the grey scale but that what i started way back when to get my feet wet and it helped me step up to this level... I do miss it (the fact that it was alot easier too for one :P) but i'm liking the color. Now I was going to unveil this back when we were at ARA but jeriddian asked me to hold of and I found out why... becuase we were moving here. But when I finished a few pieces and had him check them out... he said something to me that had me look them over and I said to myself "I can do better then this, It looks like a child colored it." So I went back to those pieces to improve the quality a wee bit. I'm happy with the results but remeber, this is just the start of color for me so it's bound to get even better should I be able to figure something else out to improve the quality.
The first links are what I was going to run with

Try not to press too hard as you color with the pencils. Color in each area with light, gentle strokes. Your colors will start out light that way, but they'll get darker the longer you color each area, until you reach the intensity you want. And your pencil points will be less likely to break that way.

I dont even get to that point... I can sit there and sharpen it... grab the lead with no force at all it come right out of the pencil. I dont know if its bad wood that its made out of or the pencil was dropped before buying and the lead was damaged. Or maybe its the sharpener... I wish i knew.:errr:

I've had that happen with #2 black pencils. It is possible (no pun intended) to oversharpen a pencil until the point is ready to break off. Do you use a crank-style pencil sharpener or one of those little hand-held ones where you put the end of the pencil in and twist? Either way, you might try taking it slow as you sharpen each pencil, and see if that helps.

I use the little ones that you put on the end of the pencil and twist... its got like a razor blade on it. Problem is I need a sharp point to get to the fine areas to get them colored and not get any smuging if at all possible. I need to figure something out, Because with whats going on... colorings is getting very costly.

Thanks to the power of Corel Photopaint. :D Adobe PhotoShop, of course, does the same thing. It only took me about thirty minutes to do it, too. I still have to learn to smooth out the lines automatically without having to resort to manually doing it, becasue that's where the time consumption goes, but there is a way. I just have to find it.:)

I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro v8, myself. Corel now owns it, and has made the most recent versions, but I have yet to see any practical purpose in upgrading.
But then again, there are times where I actually go back to Paint for some brute-force work. I actually use Paint quite extensively for my sprite-based webcomics, using PSP for resizing, effects, and touch-ups, as well as converting BMPs to other formats (JPEG or PNG; I use GIF Movie Gear to make GIF images).

Cloud, I just remembered something I used when I studied art in college all those years ago. It was a sandpaper pad; essentially a bunch of narrow sheets of sandpaper glued together at one end (like the pages of a tear-off note pad), and stapled at the other end to a narrow wooden board with a handle on it. Here's how to use it: After you've sharpened your pencil as much as you can in the "twister" sharpener, you take the pencil and lay the pointed tip on its side on the sandpaper pad. Using slow, gentle strokes, you then sharpen the lead's point even further than the hand-held sharpener can (remember to rotate the pencil as you sharpen the point). You can get a sandpaper pad at any good art or drafting supply store, or you can simply use a sheet of fine sandpaper (but not too fine!) from the local hardware store. The sandpaper pad is more convenient to use as its sheets are already cut down into a portable shape, but the stuff from the hardware store might be cheaper if money's a problem. You'll just have to cut the hardware sandpaper down into small sheets yourself, though.
Hope this helps! :alumnus:

So I picked up a copy of "Death Proof" on DVD, and it got me inspired and combined with a post-series fic idea I had wherein Adrenna Lynn returns after a long absence from Kim & Ron's lives...but I figured in the last couple of years, she's become a little bit harder, a little bit meaner, and a little bit more cold blooded in her craziness...
...oh, and she doesn't fake the stuntwork anymore.
So taking all this into account, I came up with this...

And then tweaked it a little further into this...

I've only seen commercial clips for "DeathProof," but it looks like the kind of movie that Tarantino just had a lot of fun with.
The "promo" poster looks the best of the two; the glowing outline softens the line mistakes we all make.
I'll be sure to check this one out. I like the title - short, snappy, direct, tantalizing. I prefer to do the same thing, demonstrated in the titles of "Drive" and "The After."

So, for those who don't know, I work at Walt Disney World. And every year, they hold the Cast Create-A-Pin contest. Cast members from all over Disney World can submit their ideas for pin designs. The Pin Trading team pick five winners and those winners see their artwork turned into limited edition (and I do mean limited: only 500 of each winning design) cast member exclusive pins.
My entry for last year, "Villainous Vacation" can be found here:
http://shallow15.deviantart.com/art/Villainous-Vacation-48967906
But it didn't win (And no, it had nothing to do with the quality of the picture, since all the winning entries get redrawn by the professional artists at Disney Design Group before they're turned into pins)
After seeing the sheer shmaltz factor involved in the winning pins from that year (All of them were a basic variant on "Cast Members Make the Magic"), I decided to try again with that particular theme in mind, and, once again, I did not win. So, I present to you my 2008 Cast Create-A-Pin Contest Entry...

Hi gang.
This is good that we have a forum where we can showcase our completed and ongoing fiction and artworks. It gives us all a chance to sample the genius of the group beyond just forum posts and without having to open a separate site.
As my 2 cents, I want to try something - a "trailer poster" I guess, of an upcoming fanfic I'm working on. Let's see if I get this right...

Oh goodie! If just the title produces a :scared: , I know I'm on the right track. This is one that started out as just a plot gerbil about six months after finishing Gleam Surge, but no matter how I tried to feed it, it would not grow. It wasn't really until during the KP-a-thon on TV that I peeked into the corner where this story had crawled...and I discovered that the plot gerbil had morphed into a plot bunny.
--A plot bunny with two-foot fangs, fur like a Brillo pad, and a howl that made my eyelashes crawl.
I've been hard at work building the initial plot into a storyboard-type arrangement, and just a few weeks ago, started in on writing (Father Time is STINGY when it comes to free time to work on this, I tell ya!).
Spoilers? Teasers? No, and no. I will tell you this, which may or may not ease your mind: this is not a remake or adaptation of the Bruce Willis/Liv Tyler movie, despite the title. I'll also say that, whether there are any more stories involving Cellers to come after this, or if this is finis - this will probably stand out as the darkest chapter in the series. J.K. Rowling seventh-book dark. Black hole dark? We'll see. For those of you who have read it, my overall aim is for this to make Steel Swan look like a stadium floodlamp.
I must go for now. The Plot Bunny is growling for me to feed it some more feral cats. :scared:
On a side note: I do hope that the picture, when you click on it, is larger than the link in Flame & Silk Double Lucky's post. When I click on the one in the original post, it is larger (even if not as large as I'd hoped).

 Work is calling louder than the image, I guess. Any tips? I had meant for this to be larger than a thumbnail, and apparently I don't have the same knack as others for posting images in posts :dubiety:
When I click on the attached file thumbnail, it comes up with a bigger image. I don't know why later attempts aren't working, though (Your original image post still works, however).
Well, then answer me this: how is it that other people seem to be able to put up full-size images with little effort, yet all I can show is a thumbnail? I'm missing something in the equation, somewhere. :errr:
Just wanted to touch base, CellarFan. As far as I can see you should be able to post images onto the site.:hmm::unsure:

...As I don't have a DeviantART account, I guess I'll just put in the links to my artwork below. I've done some hand drawings, but I tend to like splicing together existing stuff into something new using Photoshop....
...
...Well, do ya, punk? (http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/1629/copyofgunner1200twistrr4.jpg) (Version Two, my favorite of the pair. Unable to be loaded in the size I wanted because imageshack.us had size constraints. Does anyone know of a image-hosting service that allows pictures bigger than 1.5 MB?)
I finally found an image service that loads >1.5 MB.
To christen it, I'm uploading a cleaned-up, colorized version (http://aycu38.webshots.com/image/32757/2000537159597513515_rs.jpg) of the image above.

Kim certainly looks different outside her native medium. All the odd bodily proportions our brain ignores as part of "stylistic representation" suddenly become "whoa... what the heck?" when presented in 3D. The closer things get to "reality," but don't quite get there, the more danger they have of dipping into the the uncanny valley (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncanny_valley).

CellerFan, my mental picture of Cellers is similar to that more of SIMs, from a 3D perspective, with the hair and skin just as you described. Kim would look different enough to call attention to herself if one looked at her for more than a moment but not so much to immediately capture attention: that's what drew me into the story and hooked me from her first appearance.
Of course, it could be just because I'm still looking for my own entrance to the CellerVerse whle sending people over to read your stories; I'm hearing the same thing that I felt when I started reading them: I can't stop reading.... That's my goal in writing: to make my readers give up eating and keep reading  :innocent:  until they've finished, then they can gorge on some of that special roasted dish that Kim loves.

No, they were not 'official' per se. These were 3D models created of KP that were put on the web for free use by somebody out there in one of the graphic animator sites that they are privy to entering. Since they were freely distributed, Disney did not have much problem with it, especially considering the fact they were 3D, and Rough Draft only worked KP as a 2D cel modality, not 3D, from what I know. These are the only 3D models we've been able to find of anything KP, as that would cut the work we have to do by that much more. The majority of the work is in the creation of the character models.

I will soon have an instruction thread letting you know about how to upload art work, although it's pretty explanatory once you get to the site. There are still a few glitches I have to reslove with it, but that will come soon. There will also soon be a new feature in which you can select to look at art work by a particular artist. Kyoji is my favorite character from Mobile Fighter G Gundam, to the point where I named my LiveJournal and my Gaia Online character after him. Kyoji has, in fact, been my avatar in more ways than one over the years (in fact, check my profile pic - that would be me *as* Kyoji from Youmacon 2006!)... and as for Shego, well... doy! It's Shego!

Nice work again, Double-N! And referencing the Stargate universe as well...
It'd been quite a while since this thread had been updated... I dumped my Earthlink webspace some time ago, but I'd forgotten about this thread, so I went back and updated the links to my current webspace.
I've got a few good ideas, including combining our favorite redhead with my very first favorite redhead for a nice action pose, but I just haven't gotten around to doing any drawings yet. But, I'm taking my sketchbook with my on my vacation next week, so I'm hoping that during my downtime in L.A., I'll actually produce something that I'll be able to show off when I get back.

Well, most of my fanart involves manipulation of promo art and/or screencaps with Photoshop.
Usually "promo" art is better, as the colors are normally clear and the colors don't suffer like they do when in episode's coloring is "compressed" for a screencap or iTunes or something. (Did that make sense?)

A crack is full-version copy of software that people have uploaded along with a "keygen," which generates a string of numbers that you can input into the "serial code" section of the product registration, so you can unlock the software without actually having to pay for it.

Actually, "cracks" or, to be more specific, no-CD keys are legal if you own a legitimate copy of the program.
In such cases they're useful if you're CD's messed up, or (like me) the game won't run off the disc you installed the game from (Rome: Total War, though Barbarian Invasion is fine).

Nice pics, ncnu. Of course, the religious affiliations of the two girls have never been established as such subjects are usually never discussed on children's TV shows. The best we can say about Kim is that she probably observes a Christian faith since her family celebrates Christmas, but past that no denomination has ever been expressly indicated by the series for any character with the exception of Ron, and that only came about as a plot device for the "Ron the Man" episode. The funny thing is that the way Drakken's mother comes across on "Mother's Day" and the way Bonnie's mother acts on "Downhill" actually gives some slight vibes that they could also possibly be Jewish. Granted, that's a little stereotypical (Catholic mothers could be just as attentive and 'overbearing'), but that just shows how vague and undetermined such characteristics can be in children's TV shows and television in general, and on purpose.

Looking for a fanart this time:
I'm visualizing one of Kim kneeling before a chasm/cliff, an anguished NOOOOOOOOOO! clearly displayed by her face and body language, with Drakken and Shego (and others?) standing behind her, looking freaked.
I've tried DA, but I can't quite place the artist.
Didn't Richard Sirois do one like that? I seem to remember one similar to what you've described on his website...or am I thinking of someone else?
EDIT: I'm thinking of another artist. I just checked Richard's site, and he doesn't have a KP illo like the one you described amongst his works. So it has to be somebody else whose name eludes us both right now.
Actually I looked through Sirois' art and didn't find that shot, I did find the one where she very distraught as she kneels over Ron's apparent severely injured/dead body. I find her expresison on that shot more communicative of that emotion than the one Fazhou had done.
Fireand'chutes77,

Yeah, I saw that drawing of Richard's, too. But I think both his and Fa Zhou's illustrations do a good job of conveying Kim's grief to the viewer. Fa Zhou's artistic style is, IMHO, a bit closer to the style of the show's animators than Richard's is. His style is a bit "looser" than what we see on KP.

Yes, I remembered the scene as soon as I read 'chutes' description, but I completely blanked out on the artist's name. I just mentioned Richard's website as a good place to start looking because his name was the first one to come to mind.
At least we found it, so "all's well that ends well."

Do we have a section on the main GJA page for panning shots? I think I've posted something like this before, but I can't remember.
Anyway, here are two I did recently:
One, a high-quality version of the infamous super-suit pan, both with and without letterbox bars:
Bars:
http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/1769/supersuitpan.th.jpg (http://img7.imageshack.us/my.php?image=supersuitpan.jpg)
No bars:
http://img49.imageshack.us/img49/1091/copyofsupersuitpannobla.th.jpg (http://img49.imageshack.us/my.php?image=copyofsupersuitpannobla.jpg)
Two, a pan across the control center a few seconds beforehand, showing Drakken-, Shego-, and Eric's reactions:
Bars:
http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/8523/missioncontrolpan.th.jpg (http://img264.imageshack.us/my.php?image=missioncontrolpan.jpg)
No bars:
http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/8933/missioncontrolpannoblac.th.jpg (http://img504.imageshack.us/my.php?image=missioncontrolpannoblac.jpg)
(And, no, I did not make that screencap just to admire the Lycra detailing built into the battlesuit.... ;)) (At least, not completely.....)
jeriddian

Okay, when you say a "panning shot", are you talking about the letterbox format size?
TransWarpDrive
04-07-2009, 10:33 PM
I think he means a shot where the camera pans either from side to side, or up and down, to reveal the whole picture/scene. These battlesuit shots 'chutes has posted are similar to panning shots used to show Kim in her little black dress ("Emotion Sickness"), or her "Sheela of the Leopard People" catsuit ("Bad Boy"). The camera panned in a vertical direction to reveal both those outfits in their entirety, just like it did with this costume in "StD." :alumnus:
jeriddian
04-07-2009, 11:06 PM
Ah, I see. Well, as far as a special section for these shots, I suppose we could do that. I can create another section on the miscellaneous page for it. But if 'chutes is willing, he could also give me the panned shots and I can upload them into the art gallery under his profile, too.

Working with Inkscape (a vector program), tracing screencaps and whatnot, I've attempted to depict what I think Zita's mom might look like:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v123/Syskeyia/zitasmom_tryout.jpg
What do you think? I was trying to show that, like Kim, Zita got her looks from her mother (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HotShounenMom), while still making it obvious that she's a busy middle-age mom. How do you think I did?

I like it, NN. I think you did a good job. There's enough of a family resemblance in your drawing, IMHO, for us to believe that it is Zita's mom. And since they never showed us Zita's mother at all in the series, it's anyone's guess, really, as to what she looks like. So given that fact, your illustration makes a very plausible likeness.

Stephen Sliver, the lead artist for the KP series, often drew his male characters that way, caricaturing and emphasizing a bigger upper torso (Brick Flagg is another good example of that.) So the more athletic males tend to have longer torsos, bigger chest, and markedly shorter legs.

Zita's outfit was determined using a Season 1 model sheet if Kim in her cheerleader uniform. I guess the skirt lengths tended to vary - I remember looking at KPTome's stuff and a discussion in one episode of how Bonnie wore a short cheer skirt while Kim wore a long one, and whether or not this was to signify that Kim was a "good" cheerleader while Bonnie was a "bad" one...
Also, in response to your earlier post, the building Zita is in front of in "Zita's Culture" is La Constancia Mexicana (http://www.fotosdepuebla.org/galeria/main.php?g2_itemId=1700), a building in Puebla, Mexico. :alumnus:

Been working on a picture of Anne in high school, and I think I might need some advice:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v123/Syskeyia/Teen_Anne_preview.png
Does she look like a teenager, or does she just look like the Anne from the show with a different hairdo? Do I need to change anything to make her look her age?
(As for the hairstyle itself - I did some calculations, and the Drs. Possible were in high school sometime during the mid-late 70s. It was either "long-and-straight" or feathered, so I went with the latter...)

Hey! That's not half-bad! I like it. Considering I graduated in the early 70's, that fits pretty well, Although, I would tend to think that look comes from a little earlier like the mid-60's in my mind. By the mid-70's, the turmoil of the 70's have trickled down and you are right that one would be seeing more 'natural' and longer hair styles, a la Farrah Fawcett for example. But there was still quite a bit of this styling still evident, I would say.

Since it's the summer, I'd thought it'd be appropriate to re-visit the question of what kind of swimsuit Kim would wear:

Very Nice, Double N! Me Like! But I think Kim wouldn't have a problem wearing a regular bikini either, not too skimpy though. That's Bonnie's area.

Yes, I did not want to repost the picture with a short comment added. Having to roll through the same photos over and over looking for comments is frustrating to me.

Oh, and that's a pretty good art you've got there, VH. :)
As for savingkp's banner ... I can see Ron taking that a bit too literally. "So you can spin webs and unleash adamantium claws?" "Uh, Ron..." "Also, why haven't you ever turned into an alien on any of our missions? And..."
;)

To satisfy the Bellybutton Cops, one of the provisions for making S4 seems to have been to alter the wardrobes. Suddenly, out of nowhere, all the females in Middleton were replaced with test tube pod people.
Are you seeing a pattern here, Scully?
