Here's a thread to come and talk about arguably the best show on television: Battlestar Galactica. From technology, to the characters, to the episodes, to the latest news from the creators, an everything in between, this is your place to come and talk. Just remember to have fun with it.

All right, first order of business: Tory spaced Cally! :scared: I mean, wow, just wow.

Now, begin with the talking.

I reserve the right to have a flashy opening picture . . . and be cheeky.

Flashy, but a little big, don't ya think? And I'm running 1440 pixels wide...

Yeah, I wasn't too surprised by the little ambush that Brother Cavil laid out for the Sixes and Eights, but man... I said it before and I'll say it again - I frakkin' hate Tory. I hope to God that Galen puts a bullet in that two-bit w**re's head.

And I just can't think but wonder what kind of reaction Starbuck will have should she find out that her hubby's a skin-job...

You know, I wasn't sure if I agreed with you about that . . . until I saw Friday's episode. Tory trying to convince people that they're perfect? That just grinds my gears.

And I just can't think but wonder what kind of reaction Starbuck will have should she find out that her hubby's a skin-job...
Ooh! Ooh! I know! I know! :D

BANG!

Well, I think it's time to revive this thread, and what better way to revive the thread then with talking about the latest episode? Now if you haven't seen it yet you can catch up on all the latest episodes here (http://www.hulu.com/watch/19635/battlestar-galactica-faith) on Hulu.com (http://www.hulu.com).

OK, now something that struck me about this episode was that Roslin is seeming to start to believe in the monotheistic thread that's been running through the entire series. It's interesting to see her - to me at least - so easily reject the gods that she's claimed to be chosen by almost the entire series. Somehow I find it hard to believe, but then again, Roslin is an interesting character.
I've got to say, I've been waiting a long time for the Colonials to team up with some of the Cylons, and I'm glad it's finally happened; especially since Nicole is such a kick-*** character. :D However, (And this is a biggy) I get Nicole shooting the other Six in the back of the skull at point-black range after said Six killed Baraley, I get that. What I don't get is why she kissed her sister on the lips before doing the deed. That was just whack.
Now, I really hope they beck in time to save Felix's leg. :dubiety:
Also, is it just me, or is Athena the most anti-Cylon member of the cast?. . . Now I'm sorry, but that's just the way I feel. What'd do think?

Edit: Also, the Cylon hanger doors, creeeeeeeepy. :errr:

Y'know, I didn't even realize that that was Nana Visitor until the boat scene...

Somehow, I don't think Sam's really ready to reveal himself just yet. It's probably a good thing for him he didn't get to interface with the Basestar...

It just isn't the same without Ben Cartwright in a cape and Muffett. Of course the fact that we used to watch it in the day room with blenders of margueritas, the sound off and supplying our own dialogue may have something to do with it....

Yeah, I always wondered what would happen if he did something like that.

:laugh::laugh:
Yeah, that would've made the original "Galactica" a lot more tolerable, IMHO. I always thought that show was a "Star Wars" rip-off, plain and simple. I think this new incarnation is vastly superior to the original, if only because the characters seem more like real people.

Oh, Cody, a question about your comment here:

Hubby, she'd definitely shoot him. Shame too, Sam Anders is one of my favorite characters. Ironic in a way that I'm casting Josh Mankey as him is BSM. Ha! I'm going to make people like Kim/Josh even if it kills them. :P

That's because THE NEW SEASON 4.5 TRAILER HAS BEEN RELEASED AND IT IS UN-FRAKING-BELIEVABLE!!! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzZX9d18Ebg) This series is going to end now, in 2009. http://www.thescifiworld.net/img/smilies/galactica/adama/adama-pancarte001.gif

Maybe not, but there's plenty of chances to have a Katee Sackhoff (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katee_Sackhoff), Tricia Helfer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tricia_Helfer), Grace Park (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grace_Park_%28actress%29), or even Mary McDonald (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_McDonnell) sighting. ;)

Well, I figure it'd be a nice time to jump-start this forum, in time for the final episode tomorrow night.

So, what have we learned in the last nine episodes?

Ellen Tigh was the last Cylon.
Apparently, all of Earth was populated by Cylons when its population was destroyed.
The "Final Five" were really more like the First Five, as they were the progenitors of the eight models that came later.
Cavil was willing to let Ellen go just to get his hands on Hera.
We're STILL not sure what happened to Starbuck, and how she could be dead on Earth yet alive now...

(Feel free to add anything else I've missed...)

Looks like this final episode will mark the final battle for the Galactica, so the big question is...

... WHO WILL SURVIVE?

How are Boxey and Muffitt II doing these days?

Why the King tut headresses?

What happened to Lorne Greene's cape?

Not to mention the really burning question:
Since he has an oscillating red sensor "eye" on his nose, is Knight Rider's "K.I.T.T." a Cylon too? :P

Intrigueing question. I've long maintained that David Hasselhoff's Baywatch rescue buoy should have talked to him, preferably in KITT's voice, and have an oscillating red eye...

What intrigues me is that, in the new series, KITT's voice is provided by none other than Val Kilmer. I remember seeing him in "Batman Forever" and "Tombstone."

All I can say is, the finale was freakin' awesome.

And it's a pretty nice twist ending, finding out that the series was really set one hundred fifty thousand years in the past, right up to the jump forward at the very end - to the present day.

Y'know, I strongly doubted that the destroyed planet they landed on at the midseason break last summer actually was Earth. And I was right... and wrong. Evidently, it was the first "Earth", but not the Earth we know. Which actually makes sense now, seeing as how the colonists/human-type Cylons on that other Earth were only there for a thousand years... it didn't quite add up, but now it makes sense.

But Wait, There's More! We've got the prequel, Caprica, to look forward to... and now, we've also got Battlestar Galactica: The Plan, which appears to be a retelling of the miniseries from the Cylons' point of view.

I'll agree with you Rob: the BSG finale was certainly something to behold. In fact, my only gripe about it would be that the Jimi Hendrix version of "All Along the Watchtower" didn't continue to play over an extended and complete credits sequence. Other then that though, it was the best frakking finale to the best frakking show on television. http://www.thescifiworld.net/img/smilies/galactica/starbuck/starbuckanime003.gif

Boxey? He was there in the beginning, not quite sure what happened to him later, probably got killed somewhere along the way, though I'm not sure. As for Muffet . . . I don't know, wasn't that the name of Rowin's dog, or cat?

Muffitt II was Boxey's robot dog from the original series, he was integral to the show.

It's actually a bit of a homage to the very first lines ever spoken in the original BSG.

There are those who believe that life here began out there, far across the universe, with tribes of humans who may have been the forefathers of the Egyptians, or the Toltecs, or the Mayans. They may have been the architects of the great pyramids, or the lost civilizations of Lemuria or Atlantis. Some believe that there may yet be brothers of man who even now fight to survive somewhere beyond the heavens...In the episode though it's because Adama ordered the fleet to be piloted into the sun after all the survivors had landed on Earth.

Darn, when I read the earlier spoilers (Mom caught a part of "Faith" she didn't like, so I haven't been able to watch the show since then) I was hoping that the end would be something like a person in the present digging up a 170,000-year old Battlestar or something. :(

So the cylons are the G'ould and the Galactica folk are Jaffa? Cool, I've often thought it would be neat if Ron and Monkey Fist would have glowing eyes and speak in lower range voices when they were doing the mystical monkey power thing.

I just saw a DVD of that animated film version of Frank Miller's Batman: Year One miniseries for sale at my local Smarty-Mart today. Listed as one of the voice actors is none other than Katie Sackhoff, who portrayed Starbuck in the new version of BG.
