"Wade, what's going on?" Kim asked minutes later after taking some time to watch what the Weather Channel had to say about the tornado. It was an F2, but Kim was still worried. The meteorologists had said even F2 tornadoes could produce significant damage.

"A tornado is headed for your area, Kim," Wade said. "I'd watch it carefully, but don't get too worked up. I'll try to get an estimated path of the storm before you guys can start to panic, ok? It'll only take about two minutes."

"Please and thankyou," Kim replied. Then she turned back to the TV with a worried expression on her face. "If it hits, what'll happen? That sitch would just be too major for us to handle......"

"Kim", Wade yelled over the Kimmunicator. "Kim, are you there?"

Kim, who had been trying to study with Ron picked up the Kimmunicator from its resting place on the table. "What is it, Wade? You sound really upset," Kim said, her voice laced with worry and concern.

"The storm is coming straight towards Middleton at 20 miles per hour, faster than it was, and the tornado hasn't weakened!" Wade explained frantically. "It's an F3 now, and it won't stop! Kim, I suggest you call you parents now. Where are Tim and Jim?"

Kim felt her stomach churn as she remember her twin brothers. "T-they're at a friends house. Don't worry, I-I'll call." Her fingers started shaking, and fear began to seep into Kim's body. She glanced at Ron, who was chalk white. "Go seek safe shelter, Wade. I'll take care of the rest. Thanks." Wade nodded, and with a final wave of his hand signed off.

Kim turned to Ron, a resigned look on her face. "Ron, I need you to call my parents and my brother's friend while I get emergency supplies just in case. Ok?" Ron nodded gravely and walked off.

In the next ten minutes, Kim gathered a First Aid Kit, water, a radio, blankets, a flashlight, some food, and (of course) her Kimmunicator. Then she headed downstairs to watch to weather, and wait. Ron was already on the couch watching, and as Kim sat down she realized something rather shocking, that she'd never really taken note of before. There was no basement.

Get in the lowest level of your house and get into the inner-most room with no windows; the tornado is a staggering F4 and shows no signs of stopping-anyone in Middleton needs to seek shelter imediately; get undergroud now-if you are above ground there is a slim chance that you'll make it; Beep. Beep. Beeeeeeep!!!! Kim watched the new reports flashing before her eyes in horror, fearing that she and Ron wouldn't make it. It was getting darker outside, and the ominous wall clouds that marked a severe storm were rolling in. Thunder could be heard every few seconds, getting closer all the time.

Time was running out, and there was nowhere to go. Kim heard hail beating down onto the house, and grabbed Ron and rushed into a downstairs closet. She had never been so terrified in her life. "God, I hope Wade is wrong. Just for once, please let Wade be wrong!!!" Once inside, Kim and Ron pulled clothes down on top of them to protect their bodies and waited in silence. The silence was eerie, never ending, and full of dread.

Then a sound worse then silence reached the teens' ears-a loud roaring sound similar to that of a jet engine that filled Kim and Ron with terror. Kim's ears popped as the sound got even louder, bringing winds that shook the house.

The tornado had arrived in full force.
